Currency
Currency Exchange at Denpasar International Airport
Currency in Bali: The official currency of Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). It's recommended to have some local currency for small purchases and markets, but major credit cards are widely accepted in tourist areas.
Currency Exchange at the Airport: Denpasar International Airport has currency exchange counters and ATMs, allowing you to easily obtain Indonesian Rupiah upon arrival. The exchange rates at the airport are generally reasonable, and it's convenient for obtaining some initial cash.
Tips for Currency Exchange:
- Check Rates: Compare rates at different counters or ATMs to ensure you get a fair deal. Our recommendation is:
- Small Denominations: Request smaller denominations for easier transactions in local markets or for tips.
Using ATMs: ATMs are widely available, and many accept international cards. However, it's advisable to inform your bank about your travel dates to avoid any potential issues with accessing funds. ATMs often provide competitive exchange rates.
